🔧 What it does & how to use
This is a hand-held clamping vice used by watchmakers to hold small, delicate components steady for cleaning, oiling, adjusting or inspecting — ideal for hobbyists and professionals alike. The jaws close down to grip pivots, hands, balance wheels and crowns without an extra pair of hands or a bench vice getting in the way.
- Select the size: use the size markers on the tool to choose a jaw opening matching your component, from 0.20mm up to 0.90mm.
- Holding pivots or balance parts: close the jaws gently around the pivot, hand or balance staff until it's held firmly but without excess force.
- Holding a crown: pick whichever of the 3mm, 5mm or 7mm crown-holding positions matches your crown.
- Work on the piece: with the component held secure, carry out your cleaning, adjusting or repair work.
- Release: open the jaws to free the part once finished.
