🔧 What it does & how to use
A table-standing hand vice used by watchmakers, clockmakers and jewellers to hold small components steady while filing, drilling, sawing, riveting or general bench work. The brass jaws have "V" grooves on both sides, so it grips both flat and round parts firmly without marking them, and its 140mm length gives a stable footprint on the bench.
- Position: Stand the vice upright on the bench where you have clear working space.
- Select the grip: Choose the flat or "V"-grooved side of the jaws depending on whether your part is flat or round.
- Load the part: Place the component between the jaws, centring it in the groove for round stock.
- Tighten: Wind the clamping screw until the part is held firmly but not distorted.
- Work the part: Carry out filing, drilling, sawing or other bench work with the part held securely.
- Release: Loosen the screw and lift the part free once finished.
