🔧 What it does & how to use
A pin vice is a simple but essential hand tool for watchmakers, clockmakers and jewellers, used whenever a small item needs to be held firmly and steadily for drilling, filing, de-burring or fine finishing work. This is the larger, heavy-duty hand-held style, giving a good, comfortable grip for extra control and pressure compared with smaller pocket pin vices.
To use it, open the 3-jaw chuck by unscrewing the knurled collet at the tip, insert the drill bit, wire, file or other small tool into the jaws, then tighten the collet by hand to clamp it securely. The chuck accepts items from 0 to 5mm in diameter. Once tight, hold the vice body in your palm or between your fingers to steady and rotate the held tool with precision — ideal for hand-drilling small holes, de-burring edges, or holding fine files and wires for detailed repair and jewellery-making work.
