🔧 What it does & how to use
This tape is used by watchmakers and jewellers to mask off areas of a case, bracelet or component that need to stay untouched while the rest of the piece is polished or buffed. The heat-resistant polyimide film acts as a barrier against heat discolouration, while the silicone adhesive holds firm during the polishing process without lifting, so it gives a clean, precise edge. It peels away afterwards leaving no residue behind.
- Cut to length: Measure the area to be protected and cut a strip from the roll to size.
- Apply: Press the tape firmly onto the area you want to mask off, smoothing out any air bubbles.
- Check the edge: Make sure the tape edge is sharp and fully sealed where it meets the area to be polished.
- Polish or buff: Work on the exposed area as normal; the tape acts as a heat barrier and stops overspill.
- Remove cleanly: Peel the tape away once finished — it should lift off without leaving any adhesive residue.
