🔧 What it does & how to use
A disc cutter set for jewellers and hobby metalworkers, used to punch neat, repeatable round blanks from sheet metal such as gold, silver, platinum and aluminium, ready for use as pendant blanks, earring bases or other jewellery components. It also punches holes in metal, paper, card and leather. The set includes a slot for feeding in strips of metal to be cut, and comes with a urethane pad base to support the sheet during punching.
- Set up: place the urethane pad base on a solid, flat surface.
- Position the metal: lay your sheet metal (up to 1.00mm thick) or strip on top of the pad, or feed a strip through the cutter's slot.
- Choose your punch: select the disc size you need from the 14 punches (3.0mm–16.0mm).
- Position the punch: stand the chosen punch upright over the area of metal to be cut.
- Strike to cut: hit the punch firmly with a mallet or hammer to cut the disc cleanly through into the pad below.
- Repeat: move to a fresh area of the sheet and repeat for each disc needed.
⚠️ Please check the sheet thickness before cutting — this set is rated to cut a maximum of 1.00mm sheet, and thicker material may damage the punches or fail to cut cleanly.
