🔧 What it does & how to use

Watch hands come with a fixed centre hole, and when a hand doesn't quite fit the movement's hour, minute or second post, this tool lets you open that hole out to the correct size rather than scrapping the hand. It's a simple bench tool suited to hobbyist and professional watchmakers doing hand-fitting or repair work.

• Open the tool: Squeeze the ends of the tool apart to separate the two vice plates.
• Select the size: Line up the hand's centre hole with the closest matching hole in the plates.
• Clamp the hand: Release the squeeze so the plates grip the hand firmly in place.
• Broach the hole: Insert a broach (or fine drill) into the hole and work it through to gradually enlarge the hand's centre to the size needed.
• Check the fit: Remove the hand and test it on the movement post, repeating gradually until it seats correctly.
