Fibreglass scratch brushes are a gentle but effective abrasive tool used across watchmaking, jewellery-making, and general metalwork. The fine fibreglass bristles remove light corrosion, tarnish, and dirt from metal contacts and small components, and are ideal for prepping surfaces before soldering, since they clean without the heavy abrasion of wire brushes or wet-and-dry paper.
To use, simply brush the bristle tip directly over the area you want to clean — such as battery contacts, small parts, findings, or solder joints — using light, repeated strokes. Work in one direction for the best finish and rinse or wipe away any residue afterwards. As the fibreglass wears down, snap off the tip to expose fresh bristle, or replace with new fibreglass refills when the brush is used up.
