🔧 What it does & how to use
A simple cast iron crucible for melting scrap gold, silver and other precious metals ready for casting into ingots, mixing alloys, or refining — a handy bench tool for jewellers, hobby casters and metal refiners. The wooden handle screws into the side of the pot so it can be held and poured safely, then removed before heavy or prolonged heating.
- Fit the handle: screw the wooden handle into the side of the pot for safe handling and pouring.
- Load the metal: place your gold, silver or scrap metal pieces into the cast iron bowl.
- Apply heat: heat the pot with a blowtorch or in a furnace until the metal melts fully.
- Pour: use the handle to tip the pot and pour the molten metal into a mould or ingot bar.
- Remove the handle: unscrew the wooden handle before storing the pot or before any high, sustained heat that could scorch the wood.
⚠️ Please check — unscrew the wooden handle before extended high-heat use (e.g. furnace melting) to protect it from scorching or burning.
