Dead-soft bare copper is a general jewellery and craft wire — gauge suits the technique rather than a specific product. Commonly used as:
- 0.40mm–0.50mm: fine wire weaving, coiling around thicker core wire, delicate wrapping
- 0.80mm–1.00mm: wire-wrapped pendants, cabochon settings, general bracelet and pendant work
- 1.50mm: pieces taking more stress, bolder wraps and frames
- 2.00mm–2.50mm: statement rings, bangles, bonsai/craft and structural forms

This wire is dead-soft (fully annealed), so it has no spring-back — it's not recommended for structural components like ear wires or clasps that need to hold their shape (half-hard wire suits those better). Bare copper will darken or develop a patina over time unless sealed.
