The numbered sockets swap onto the single crank handle so you always match the exact arbor size instead of forcing an ill-fitting key. It's aimed at clock repairers, horologists, and hobbyists who service a range of movements — from post-1960s German clocks (typically size 8) to American kitchen and mantel clocks such as Sessions, Ingraham, New Haven, Ansonia and Waterbury (typically size 6 or 7).
- Identify the arbor: Check the winding spindle on the clock face or movement.
- Test sizes: Try the numbered sockets in ascending order until one seats snugly without play.
- Fit the socket: Push the chosen socket onto the crank handle's tapered square drive pin.
- Wind: Turn gently and steadily; stop as soon as resistance increases sharply to avoid overwinding.
