The glass body is faceted, so it can be stood on different flat sides rather than only upright — this lets you angle the flame to suit the job, whether you're heating a wax carving tool from the side or working directly above the flame.

Flame height is adjusted using the built-in screw control on the wick, so you can dial the heat up for faster melting or down for fine, controlled work. Simply fill the lamp with a suitable spirit fuel, light the wick, and set the flame height before use.
