🔧 What it does & how to use
A ceramic melting crucible for jewellers, refiners and hobbyist casters who need to melt precious or base metals ready for pouring into a mould or ingot. The moulded pouring side lets you direct the molten metal accurately once it's liquid, reducing spills and waste.
- Load: Place your scrap or granulated metal (gold, silver, platinum, copper or dental alloy) into the dish.
- Heat gradually: Apply heat with a torch or furnace, warming the dish steadily rather than blasting it cold to reduce the risk of thermal shock cracking.
- Melt fully: Continue heating until the metal is fully molten and flows freely.
- Pour: Tip the dish using the pouring lip to direct the molten metal into your mould or ingot form.
- Cool and reuse: Allow the crucible to cool naturally before handling again; a dish can typically be reused for multiple melts if kept in good condition.
