Oiling pins are used to apply precise, controlled amounts of oil to pivots, jewels and other small components within a watch or clock movement. Having three different sizes on hand lets you match the pin to the job — finer pins for tiny pivots and jewels, and the medium pin for larger points needing a bit more lubricant. Suitable for hobbyist watchmakers and professionals working on movement servicing and repair.

• Select the pin: choose very fine, fine or medium depending on the size of the component being oiled.
• Dip lightly: touch the tip of the pin into your oil cup or holder to pick up a small amount of oil.
• Apply to the movement: carefully transfer the oil to the pivot, jewel or point requiring lubrication.
