🔧 What it does & how to use
Piercing saw blades are the consumable cutting element for a jeweller's fretsaw, used to cut fine, intricate shapes in sheet metal, wire and other materials at the bench. This assorted set gives hobbyists and professional jewellers a full range of grades so the right blade is always to hand, from delicate fretwork to heavier cutting.
- Choose a grade: finer blades (4/0–1/0) suit thin sheet and detailed piercing, coarser blades (1–2) suit thicker stock
- Unbundle: untwist the wire tie to release individual blades from the bundle of 12
- Fit the blade: insert it into the saw frame with the teeth facing down and towards the handle
- Tension: tighten the frame until the blade gives a clear, high-pitched ring when plucked
- Cut: saw with light, steady up-and-down strokes and let the blade do the work rather than forcing it
