Shellac isused as an adhesive for securing jewels especially the pallet stones ontothe pallet and the roller jewels. You gently heat the shellac in place untilthis runs then leave to cool and you should have good joint.

In jewellery applications used by simply applying heat tothe shellac and melting it to hold components while setting stones, chasing orengraving. Oncethe shellac cools off it hardens and won’t break down. Itis easy to use with a heat source (like an alcohol lamp), it sets up fast and holds,item can be adjusted into position by simply reheating the shellac.
