This is a negative-locking (reverse-action) tweezer, the opposite of a standard tweezer: the tips stay closed at rest and open only when you squeeze the handle. That means once you release your grip, the tips clamp and hold a small part securely without any continued hand pressure — useful for holding tiny screws, springs, gaskets or stones steady while you work with your other hand. Suited to both hobbyist and professional watchmakers, clockmakers and jewellers.

• Position the part: squeeze the handle to open the fine tips and place them either side of the component.
• Release to lock: ease off the squeeze and the tips close automatically, gripping the part in place.
• Hold hands-free: with the part locked, use your other hand for the task — e.g. fitting a screw, applying oil, or positioning a stone.
• Release when done: squeeze the handle again to reopen the tips and lift away or release the part.
