A mainspring winder lets you wind a mainspring down into its barrel by hand, or release ('let down') the spring's tension before removing a movement from its case — a job that's unsafe and inaccurate to do with tweezers alone. This set gives you ten sizes so you can match the winder to the barrel diameter of the calibre you're working on, useful for both hobbyist repairers and professional watchmakers.

• Select the size: choose the winder that matches the barrel of the movement you're servicing (sized for 3135, 2892, 2824, 7750, 2671, 2000, 8500, C07111, 2235 or 8200 barrels).
• Engage the barrel: fit the winder's jaws or arbor over the mainspring barrel or arbor square.
• Wind or release: turn the winder to wind the spring into the barrel, or to control and release tension gradually when letting down power.
• Keep it steady: use the non-slip ergonomic handle to maintain even control throughout, avoiding sudden spring release.
• Remove once done: lift the winder away once the spring is fully wound in or tension is safely released.
