This tool makes it much easier to wind watches with a crown that's too small, stiff or fiddly to grip with your fingers. It's handy for hobbyists and watchmakers alike, and is also useful for letting down the mainspring tension when working on mechanical movements.

• Open the jaws: Push in the end of the tool to release the spring-loaded chuck.
• Position it: Fit the open jaws over the watch crown.
• Release to grip: Let go of the end so the spring closes the chuck and holds the crown firmly.
• Wind or release: Turn the tool to wind the watch, or use it to carefully let down mainspring tension before servicing.
