🔧 What it does & how to use
An India oil stone is a hard abrasive stone used for sharpening and honing fine metal edges — ideal for watchmakers and jewellers who need to keep drill bits and screwdriver blades sharp and true. Its hardness is comparable to an Arkansas stone, giving a fine, controlled edge rather than a coarse grind.
To use: apply a few drops of light honing oil to the stone's surface to float away metal particles and stop the stone clogging. Hold the blade or bit at the required angle and draw it across the stone in smooth, even strokes, working both faces evenly until a sharp edge is restored. Wipe clean after use and store boxed to keep the surface free of dust and grit.
