This liquid is applied to gaskets and seals to help maintain a watch's water resistance when fitting a new glass, crystal or case back. It's a handy addition to a watchmaker's bench, useful for both hobbyists servicing their own watches and professional repairers reassembling cases after a service.

• Prepare the gasket: make sure the case back or glass gasket is clean and free of dust or old grease.
• Apply sparingly: put a small amount of the liquid onto the gasket surface using a cocktail stick, brush or your fingertip.
• Fit the component: seat the glass or case back into place while the gasket is still coated.
• Check the seal: press the case back down firmly or press-fit the glass to ensure an even, complete seal all round.
