🔧 What it does & how to use

These are the replaceable tip electrodes for a pen plating unit — the handheld tool used to build up gold or rhodium plating on jewellery without dipping the whole piece in a bath. The hard fibre tip holds plating solution and delivers it precisely, making it suited to detailing, touch-ups, and small or awkward areas that a full immersion tank can't easily reach. Useful for both hobbyist jewellery makers and professional platers doing spot repairs.

• Fit the tip: Push the fibre tip onto the pen plating unit's probe.
• Load with solution: Dip the tip in the gold or rhodium plating solution to saturate the fibre.
• Apply to the piece: Connect the earth/return lead as per your unit's instructions, then gently stroke the tip over the target area.
• Recharge as needed: Re-dip the tip in solution as it dries out during longer plating jobs.
• Swap tips between metals: Use a separate tip for gold and for rhodium to avoid cross-contaminating the solutions.
