🔧 What it does & how to use

A wax file is used for carving, shaping and smoothing wax models before casting — a staple for jewellery makers, model makers and hobbyists working in wax or similar soft materials such as plastic.

The flat side is suited to levelling flat surfaces and straight edges, while the round side is designed for working into concave curves, grooves and rounded details that a flat face can't reach.

Each side also carries a different grade, so you can rough out shape quickly on the coarser side, then switch to the finer side to smooth and refine the surface ready for casting or finishing — all from a single tool.
