🔧 What it does & how to use
These pads sit on the inside faces of a bench vice, between the metal jaws and the item being clamped, so the jaws don't mark, scratch or crush delicate work. They're aimed at watch, clock and jewellery makers and repairers who need to hold small, soft or finished pieces securely without damaging them.
To use, simply place one pad over each jaw face before closing the vice — many have a magnetic or friction fit to hold them in place, or they can be held by hand while clamping. Once fitted, close the vice as normal; the rubber/plastic surface cushions the grip while the steel backing keeps the pad rigid and stable, giving a firm hold on non-marking, protected surfaces.
