🔧 What it does & how to use
This trivet supports your workpiece from underneath while you apply heat from above, so the heat spreads evenly across the piece rather than concentrating in one spot. It's built from three 2-inch angled titanium panels welded together, giving a stable rest for rings, bezels and other jewellery components during soldering or enamelling. Titanium is durable and non-stick, and its slow thermal conductivity means the trivet itself absorbs less heat than a traditional iron trivet, so you can concentrate on the piece rather than the support losing or gaining heat unpredictably.
-
Positioning: Rest the trivet on a heatproof soldering surface or brick.
-
Placing the piece: Sit the ring, bezel or component across the angled panels so it's supported evenly, top and bottom if enamelling.
-
Applying heat: Direct your torch flame onto the piece as normal; the titanium panels won't stick to solder or enamel and won't rapidly draw heat away.
-
Cooling and handling: Allow the trivet to cool before repositioning, as titanium retains some heat after use.
-
Cleaning: Wipe clean between uses; titanium's non-contaminating surface helps keep work free of residue.
