🔧 What it does & how to use

These depth collets let a jeweller cut a stone seat to a consistent, repeatable depth, saving time and avoiding uneven or over-cut bearings. Slide the shank of your setting burr through the depth collet until it reaches the depth you want the seat cut to, then tighten the collet in place with the supplied Allen wrench. Fit the burr (with the collet now attached) into your micromotor or pendant drill as normal — the collet acts as a stop, preventing the burr from cutting any deeper once it reaches the collet, so every seat comes out level.

The set gives you one collet suited to settings from around 1/10ct up to 1/2ct, and a second, smaller collet for prong cluster settings, covering most everyday sizing jobs. Ideal for cutting equal bearings in prong settings, gent's rings that need hammer-set stones, and baguette boxes — useful for both hobbyist and professional bench work.
