🔧 What it does & how to use
A staking anvil is the workholding half of a staking set, used to support small parts — hands, pivots, bushes, rivets and similar components — while they're punched, riveted or pressed with a matching staking punch. The 22 graduated holes let you choose the closest match to the part's diameter so it's held securely without distortion, and the solid block gives a firm, stable striking surface. It's used by both hobbyist and professional watchmakers and jewellers as part of a wider staking or riveting set.

Select a hole: choose the hole in the block that best matches the diameter of the part or rivet you're working with.

Position the part: rest the component over the chosen hole so it's supported but the section to be worked is clear.

Align the punch: bring a matching staking punch down centrally over the part.

Strike or press: apply controlled pressure or a light hammer tap to rivet, stake or press the part as needed.

Check and repeat: inspect the result and repeat with a different hole size if a closer fit is needed.
