Material: Heat-resistant ceramic
🔧 What it does & how to use
This ceramic board is honeycombed with 493 holes, each 4mm, across its 135mm square surface. The dense pattern of holes lets heat pass through and disperse rather than build up in one spot, which helps minimise the risk of melting or distorting fine, precision jewellery work while soldering.
The honeycomb structure also means you can push pins or wire through the holes to hold small pieces, rings, or findings steady while you work, keeping both hands free for the torch and solder. It's a standard bench tool for jewellers and silversmiths carrying out gold and silver soldering, and is equally useful for hobbyists getting started with a torch. Simply place the piece on the board (pinning through the holes if extra support is needed), apply flux and solder as usual, and let the ceramic surface reflect and spread the heat evenly across your work.
