🔧 What it does & how to use

This is a two-in-one bench tool for jewellers and metal/leather crafters who need to join sheet pieces with rivets rather than solder — handy for delicate work where heat isn't wanted. One end pierces a clean hole through the material; the other end flares (sets) a semi-tubular rivet through that hole to lock the pieces together. It's machined from heat-treated tool steel rather than the softer case-hardened metal used in many hand tools, giving it the strength and precision to pierce material up to 2mm thick — suitable for sheet metal .22 gauge and under, as well as leather. It handles a maximum sheet depth of 25mm and copes with rivets up to Ø2.90mm.

• Mark the spot: position the sheet (or stacked sheets, up to 25mm total) where you want the rivet or hole.
• Pierce: use the piercing end of the tool to punch a clean Ø1.50mm hole through the material — no drill needed.
• Insert the rivet: push a semi-tubular rivet (up to Ø2.90mm) through the pierced hole from the back.
• Flare and set: switch to the flaring end of the tool and press to flatten the tubular end of the rivet, locking the join.
• Check the join: the rivet should sit flush with a hard, finished head on one side and a securely flared end on the other.
• Alternative use: use the piercing end on its own to make clean spherical holes for threading pendants or decorative elements.
