Textured drive belting for watchmaker's lathes, sold by diameter — 2mm, 3mm, 4mm or 5mm — so it's important to match the belt to your lathe's pulley groove size. Being a continuous 1 metre length, it can be cut to the exact size needed for your machine and joined to form a loop.

Cut to length: measure the belt run on your lathe and cut the belting to size, allowing a little extra for the joint.

Prepare the ends: heat a knife blade until hot.

Fuse the joint: touch the hot blade briefly to both cut ends to soften the plastic.

Join: press the softened ends firmly together and hold until fused into a single loop.
