🔧 What it does & how to use

Broaches are tapered, multi-sided hand tools used to enlarge, smooth or true up round holes in metal — a staple for clockmakers, watchmakers and jewellers. Insert the tip of the broach into the hole and rotate it, applying light pressure; the taper gradually opens and cleans the hole as you turn. Working through the sizes in this set of 6 (0.8mm–2.3mm) lets you fine-tune a hole in small, controlled increments rather than jumping straight to a larger size, giving a smoother, more precise fit.
