🔧 What it does & how to use
This is a pneumatic (air-driven) engraving gun designed for scribing permanent marks, text or decorative patterns into glass, wood, metal and plastic. It's a handy tool for hobbyists, jewellers, engineers or anyone needing to mark or personalise hard materials, and it works by driving a diamond carbide tip rapidly against the surface using compressed air rather than electricity.
-
Connect the air supply: attach a compressed air line via the 6mm hose to the 1/8" air inlet on the tool.
-
Set your pressure: run your compressor at around 100psi to match the tool's rated operating pressure.
-
Secure your workpiece: clamp or steady the item you're marking (glass, wood, metal or plastic) so it won't shift during engraving.
-
Position the tip: hold the engraver like a pen, resting the diamond carbide tip lightly on the surface where you want to mark.
-
Engage the air supply: activate the tool to start the vibrating tip, then guide it slowly and steadily to trace your design, text or pattern.
-
Work in light passes: for deeper or bolder marks, go over the line more than once rather than pressing hard in one pass.
-
Disconnect after use: release the air supply and store the tool safely, tip protected, when finished.
