🔧 What it does & how to use
Mixed stainless steel shot is used in a rotary or magnetic tumbler to clean, polish and work-harden jewellery, chain, findings and small metal parts. The mix of shapes and sizes gets into detail work while burnishing flat surfaces to a bright shine, and is a standard consumable for both hobbyist and professional jewellers.
-
Load the tumbler: add your items along with the stainless steel shot media.
-
Add liquid: cover with water and a suitable tumbling/burnishing compound or soap.
-
Run the cycle: tumble for the time recommended by your tumbler and compound, typically 15–30 minutes for a polish pass.
-
Separate and rinse: drain off the media using a sieve, rinse your pieces, and dry.
-
Store the media: keep it dry between uses to prevent rust and prolong its life.
