🔧 What it does & how to use

This heavy cast iron mould is used for casting molten silver or gold into a solid bar, ideal for refiners, hobby smelters and precious metal casters working with larger pours up to 6kg (200oz). The thick iron walls hold their shape under high heat and give a clean, flat-sided ingot once cooled.

• Prepare the mould: Preheat gently and apply a suitable release agent or light coat of oil/soot to help the finished bar release cleanly.
• Melt the metal: Heat your silver or gold to a full liquid pour using an appropriate furnace or torch setup.
• Pour: Carefully pour the molten metal into the internal cavity (150mm x 65mm x 40mm), filling steadily to avoid trapped air or splashing.
• Cool: Allow the ingot to solidify and cool fully before handling.
• Release: Tip or knock the mould gently to release the finished bar once cooled.
