🔧 What it does & how to use
This set gives you the three core spring-loaded measuring tools used by jewellers, watchmakers and metal workers for precise marking-out and comparison work. The external caliper has legs that curve inward, letting you grip and measure the outside diameter of a rod, disc, case or other round stock. The internal caliper has legs that curve outward, so you can reach inside a bore, hole or recess to check its internal width. The dividers have two straight, pointed legs used to scribe circles and arcs, step off equal distances, or transfer a measurement directly from a ruler onto your workpiece.
All three use a spring-tensioned pivot with a knurled adjusting screw: squeeze or open the legs to the rough setting, then turn the screw for fine adjustment, holding the setting steady while you work. Once set, offer the tool up to the part or hold it against a ruler to read the measurement, or use the dividers' points to mark your material directly. Their large 6" size suits bigger components and general bench work where more reach and a firmer grip are useful.
