• Position the work: Hold the workpiece firmly, steadying it on a bench block or in a vice where possible.
• Locate the point: Rest the drill tip on the marked spot, keeping the shaft upright and steady.
• Drill: Push down on the handle — this action twists the tip and drives the bit into the material.
• Release and repeat: Let the spring return the handle to its start position, then push again to continue drilling until the hole is complete.
