🔧 What it does & how to use
These ceramic dishes are melting crucibles used by jewellers, hobbyists and casters to melt small quantities of precious and base metals ready for pouring into a mould or ingot bar. The pouring lip on each dish lets you tip out molten metal cleanly and with control. The mixed set of five sizes covers everything from small test pours to larger batches.
-
Choose a size: pick the crucible that best matches the volume of metal you're melting — smaller dishes for scrap or samples, larger ones for bigger pours
-
Load the crucible: place your metal scrap, grain or ingot into the dish
-
Heat the metal: apply heat with a torch or furnace until the metal is fully molten
-
Hold securely: lift and support the hot crucible with proper tongs, never bare hands
-
Pour: tip the crucible using the pouring lip to guide molten metal into your mould or ingot bar
-
Cool and reuse: allow the dish to cool fully before handling or reloading for the next melt
