A pin vice (pin chuck) gives you a firm, hand-held grip on small round-shank tools such as drill bits, broaches and needle files — essential for precision work on watches, clocks and jewellery where a power drill would be too heavy-handed. It suits hobbyists and professional repairers alike for careful, controlled drilling and reaming by hand.

• Select a collet: Choose the collet that matches your bit's shank diameter, up to 2.2mm.
• Fit the collet: Insert the collet into the chuck end of the pin vice.
• Insert the bit: Slide the drill bit or tool shank into the collet.
• Tighten: Twist the knurled sleeve to clamp the collet and lock the bit in place.
• Work by hand: Hold the vice like a pen and rotate between finger and thumb to drill or ream.
• Swap bits: Loosen the sleeve, remove the bit, and change collets as needed for different shank sizes.
