• Prepare the stone: apply a few drops of light oil or water to the surface to help float away swarf and stop the stone clogging.
• Position the tool: hold the tool bevel or edge flat against the stone at the correct sharpening angle.
• Cut the edge: draw the tool across the stone in a smooth, consistent stroke, keeping even pressure.
• Repeat: continue the stroke pattern until the desired edge or shape is achieved.
